This workshop will take a simple multisensory look at working with botanical elements, with a focus on the plants and stories connecting to Abbotsford and the wild meadows along the banks of the River Tweed.
We will be making a simple folded plant paper book for our notes; making and sipping the herbal teas associated with the stories and exploring their health benefits; and finding creative ways to gather and share our plant stories.
Amanda Edmiston
Amanda Edmiston is a writer and professional storyteller with a background in herbal medicine. Her work looks at the legends, myths and folklore that connect us to the land we live on and the plants that grow there.
For thousands of years these stories have revealed the medicinal and nourishing nature of plants and combined with elements of social history and family memories they create a layered, multidimensional look at what we now rationalise with modern science.
For more about Amanda and her work see her website Botanica Fabula, or follow her stories on social media Facebook and Instagram
